school #238
The project has been adapted for the construction of a new residential block of the Kiev-Pechersk district to provide it with social infrastructure (there are no secondary educational institutions within a radius of 1 km). The urban planning context of the project covers a large area of the district for analytics, as the area of the district is being rebuilt and includes many social and commercial facilities with a high concentration of human traffic.
The design site is located on the site of the former production complex and, in addition to the school’s territory, includes a freestanding sports complex, an alley and multi-functional pavilions for holding point events (fairs, festivals), which are also used as rental boxes for small events. The territory of the school itself is saturated with various multifunctional spaces, accessible for external users of the district during non-academic hours.
The school building concept is based on rather simple ergonomic principles, as the goal of the project does not include the creation of an ultra-expensive and unique facility.
